Yes that’s true

And the name of that island is Pheasant Island

It lies in Bidasoa River, located between France and Spain.

This tiny island is of just 200m long and 40m wide.

It was a point of war for both the countries since a very long time but it 1659 both countries agreed to a peaceful treaty to own the island jointly and this treaty is known as treaty of Pyrenees.

They agreed to this treaty after negotiating for almost like 3 months and finally signed the deal in 1659 on the occasion of royal of French king Louis XIV with the daughter of Spanish king Philip IV.

This island is shared between France and Spain alternatively at every 6 months. From 1st February to 31st July it is under the rule of Spain and from 1st August to 31st January it is under the rule of France.

Sounds interesting isn’t it?

Well after reading this if your mind thought to visit this place then let me warn you that you cannot do that because this island is inhabitant since a very long time and 2nd tourists are not allowed here.

But nevertheless this place indeed a great example of how human and nature can exists balancing each other.
