This Friday on the occasion of akshay triteya the portals of yamunotri shrined opened at 12:15 pm. almost after the gap of 6 months.

Only handful of peoples were present in the opening and the first puja was offered on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to wish him success in the fight against Covid-19.

No. of people allowed to join the opening was kept very limited due to the sudden surge of coronavirus cases in the state as well in the country.

In fact it is said that not more than 25 people were allowed to attend the opening which includes priests, teerth purohits and district administration officials etc. making it very low key affair for the state.

Nevertheless, this moment was awaited by many devotees across the country, but due to this pandemic situation they really have to watch this event virtually only.
