Due to increasing of covid cases shree amarnathji shrine board decided to take this step. The board further states that it is constantly monitoring the situation and will reopen once the situation gets improved.

The online registration has started from April 1st through its 446 designated bank branches across the country. This annual 56 days yatra is scheduled to begin from 2 routes pahalgam and baltal in Jammu and Kashmir on June 28th and will culminate on August 22.

It is to be noted that last year too Amarnath yatra was suspended due to Covid-19 pandemic situation.

In fact Jammu-Kashmir administration has imposed night curfew in all urban areas of 20 districts due to continuous rise of Corona virus cases.

Nevertheless as the second wave of covid-19 in affecting so many people’s life, this decision was welcomed by tourists.
