Gata loops situated at  Leh-Manali Highway ,at an altitude of 17000 feet above the sea level .is famous tourist attraction because of the it’s  mysterious and petrifying  stories.

If the stories to be believed then it is said that ghost is present in the region and will disturbed the passengers who will not pay tribute to ghost by giving mineral water at the temple.

According to locals once upon a time a truck got stucked on this route due to heavy snowfall and both driver and his helper tried hard but due to extreme weather condition they couldn’t get out of it .so in the end driver decided to driver decided to walk to the nearest village and ask for help.

But the weather got further extreme and he wasn’t able to comeback till 3 to 4 days to help his helper but unfortunately his helper found dead when he came back. After few months of this incident few tourist spotted a beggar asking for water and when they gave him the bottle they saw the bottle drop through the man’s hands.

And hence this is how story got spread among other tourist and resultantly locals decided to build temple for him to offer bottle of mineral water to rest his soul. But this tradition has raised various concerns by lot of environmentalist.

So this was the story about the famous ghost of gata loops.
