Fishing cat, one of the endangered animals in India, has been has been captured on camera in Panna Tiger Reserve (PTR) of Madhya Pradesh.
This news is celebrated across all the wildlife enthusiasts in India, because this is the First-ever photographic evidence of a Fishing Cat.
If we talk about Fishing Cat or Prionailurus Viverrinus then we can say that this medium-sized cat s mostly found in wetlands and is among the 15 felids (cat) species that inhabit India. And if we talk about numbers than only Less than 10,000 fishing cats are left in the world. This is also the reason why the fishing cat has been listed as ‘vulnerable’ on the IUCN Red List.
The major cause of reduction of this species is gradual and continues destruction of wetlands and mindless human activities that pushed them to the verge of extinction.

Also this The endangered animal was first spotted in 2019 but The Reserve authorities took the time of 2 years to confirm its existence after the study of detailed and extensive study.
