On Tuesday, 14,123 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Maharashtra, the lowest since March 10 and 477 infected people have died. The state health department gave this information. The department said that with 14,123 new cases, the total infection cases in the state rose to 57,61,015, while the death toll rose to 96,198. On March 10, 13,659 cases of Covid-19 were reported in the state, where the cases have been declining for the last few weeks. A day earlier, 15,077 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Maharashtra.
A statement from the department said that 35,949 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 54,31,319. Now 2,30,681 patients are undergoing treatment in the state. Mumbai city reported 830 new cases and 23 deaths, taking the total number of infections in the metropolis to 7,06,118 and the death toll to 14,849, the department said.
They said that only three new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Mumbai’s slum-dominated Dharavi area on Tuesday. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said that a total of 6,825 cases have been reported in this area so far. He said that 17 patients are undergoing treatment in Dharavi, while 6,449 patients have been cured.
